Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AutoBook is the controller of your personal data. You can contact us about privacy at info@autobook.live.

2. What we collect

• Account details: display name, email address, password (stored only in scrambled form), date of birth and, if you use it, your Google account name and email.
• Profile details you choose to add: photo, city and country, job, website, Instagram, your cars, and the year you became a car enthusiast.
• Content you post: posts, photos, videos, comments, REVs, Spotted guesses, Clips, Showroom listings, Club/Hub/Page activity, Meet RSVPs and saved items.
• Messages: chats you send to other members and sellers.
• Payments: when you buy Turbo, Advertising or AutoBook Pro, our payment provider collects your card and billing details. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a record of what you bought, the amount and the dates.
• AI questions: what you type into AI Mechanic and AI Car Specs, and the answers.
• Ad activity: views and clicks on Sponsored items, so advertisers can see results.
• Technical data: device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address and basic logs needed to keep the service secure and working.

3. Why we use it

• To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
• To run AutoBook: show your posts and listings, deliver messages and notifications, and show Clubs, Hubs and Meets.
• To take payments, run Turbo and Advertising and give advertisers their results.
• To answer your AI questions and apply the daily limits for free members.
• To show you listings from your country and people you may know.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms and meet legal duties.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performing our contract with you (running your account), your consent (contacts finder, optional profile details), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the service) and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

4. What other members can see

• Public posts, Showroom listings, public Hubs, Pages and profile basics can be seen by anyone, including people without an account and search engines.
• Your birthday shows other members only the day and month. Your birth year is never shown to anyone but you.
• Private Hub content, including photos and videos, is only shown to members of that Hub.
• Who REVed a post is visible only to the post's author; everyone else sees the total.
• Your email address is not shown on your profile.

5. Finding mates from your contacts

If you choose to use this feature, only the email addresses in the contacts you select are checked once against AutoBook members to show you matches. The list is not kept. You can switch off "let others find me by email" at any time, and you can invite people by WhatsApp, Messages or email without uploading anything.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run AutoBook, under appropriate safeguards:

• Hosting, database, file storage and sign-in services (including Google sign-in, if you use it).
• Our payment provider, to process card payments.
• AI service providers, who receive your AI questions to generate answers.
• Email delivery services, to send sign-up confirmations, password resets and notifications.
• Authorities or advisers, when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.

Some providers are outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens we rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

• Account and content: until you delete them or close your account.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Security logs: a short period, then deleted.
• Deleted content may remain in backups for a limited time before it is overwritten.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR) you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to certain uses, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can edit most details yourself in Edit profile, and delete your own posts. For anything else, email info@autobook.live. We will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

AutoBook is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children. If you think a child has joined, email us and we will remove the account.

10. Security

We use encrypted connections, access rules on our database and private storage for protected media. No online service is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong, unique password.

12. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, for big changes, tell you in the app or by email.
